Happy birthday, USA
The extended family all went to Lake Junaluska for the Independence Day parade. We arrived late but were able to park in a spot that allowed us to catch up with the slow parade. We walked fast and were in the midst of the candy flinging of many of the "floats". We then went to the pavilion where there were many games for children and a barbecue lunch. There was entertainment for everyone, including a magician, a local bluegrass band and a club of cloggers. We returned home in the rain and began packing for the return to Atlanta. We decided to allow Olivia to stay with us for a few days so we are not alone any longer. I dumped my e-mail and finished my catch-up blog while we awaited the fireworks at the lake. We went back about 3 hours early so we could get a good seat. By the time the event was to begin, the girls were tired of waiting and wanted to leave. I refused after putting in so much time. It was the first time I remember seeing fireworks over water, so it was interesting. We returned home and went to bed about 11.
