Third Sunday of Easter
We arose and went to worship about 7:30. We had Holy Communion, always a blessed event. We stayed for Bible class featuring an interview with Dr. Paul Maier revealing many of the lies and distortions in the best seller, The DaVinci Code. We came home and dressed down for the day. It was very hot and got hotter in the afternoon. We went into the house just as their “church” was drawing to a close. We didn’t join them because I could tell they were saying much of the same things they had said the week before. I put the oil from the motor home into plastic jugs and Pieder took them to the auto parts store because he had to go after some item he needed to change his oil. The day was spent in preparation for tomorrow’s departure. I filled the water tank and they packed suitcases for their skiing trip. I hope there is enough snow for them. We had two good meals: a lamb stew and some filets from Emily’s grass fed beef. The beef was surprisingly tender although the marinade that made it so gave the beef a strong fishy taste. After dinner when the air had cooled, I painted the door to their laundry room with some of the blue paint left from the boys’ room. I played pool with the boys until bedtime. Evelyn spent much of the day reupholstering a stool for the girls and repairing some of their play dresses. We need rest so we can begin our marathon race for Indiana. Mom must still be hanging on. We have not heard otherwise from John. We pray that we can make it back before she passes but would rather she be comfortable.
