Happy tales
I am ready for the long work week to end--all three days of it. It has been cool and pleasant lately and fun to work outside. Evelyn provided a big brunch of apple stuffed French toast, zucchini bacon quiche, grilled fresh pineapple, sausage links wrapped in bacon, and sour cream coffee cake for the ladies’ Bible study at church this morning and came home tired. She lay down for a nap and wakened late to come to get me. She was 15 minutes late, but I hurried into the bathroom to change into my golfing clothes. We had decided yesterday we would walk the course. We played the front 9 and had a good time after the first three holes. I was amazed at the end that I had shot a 53 or 54, my best of the summer. (Weep, Shirley!) Perhaps I was too tired to tighten up. We also went pretty fast. Our Tee time was 3:10 and we finished at 4:50. I was ready for a shower and relaxation, however. We did just that and went to the hotel for computer work before going home to await a call from the Jones couple.
