Wonderful shoes
Thursday we were up earlier and left for Tom and LuAnn’s. We stopped at the Wal-Mart and learned that the Doctor from the Valley had called my prescription to NC. They said they would have it ready when I came back for it. We went on 18 more miles, a total of 38 from our house and found them. They were ready to go to the SAS factory. We went with them in their truck using the GPS system Tom has to guide us. We were all impressed with the store and the tour of the factory. 2660 shoes are made per day there. The quality control is phenomenal too. We were all surprised to learn that there are factories in Del Rio and somewhere in Maine as well as in at least one other location. Both Evelyn and LuAnn bought a pair of sandals. We then left there and went to the mission trail in San Antonio. There are four missions in the trail but we only visited two: San Jose and Concepcion. They were both impressive in that they were more colorful than they looked from a distance. They Indians they were converting were well provided for in both room and board. We went back to their trailer for wine and chips until time to drive to a local Mexican Restaurant for dinner. We made plans for them to come our place on Saturday for a trip to New Braunfels. We came home and watched a movie.
