Good Friday, 2007

Friday we both wakened earlier than usual. I worked on the service for an hour. We shuffled from 9-10. I think we have improved but there is so much more strategy to the game than I ever realized that we may never be very good. We came home and dressed for our final volunteer session at the hospital. It was an especially slow day for Evelyn and not too swift for me. One of the women we work with recommended a restaurant in Mercedes that had good fish. We decided to go there for dinner and then on to church. We thought the fish was ok (although plentiful) but the French fries were too greasy. I told the waitress how to correct the problem. We did go on to church that featured the reading of the passion. The pastor did another portrayal of Peter that was longer than the one of Judas last night. Both were well done. We then went to HEB to buy a lily for Sunday’s service. Earlier in the day, Dave Marsh, our travel agent, acknowledged he had made a mistake and booked our hotel for February 14 instead of April 14. We are now looking for a hotel for that night.
