sunburn city
Thursday was hot again as it will be for the next week. There are heat records being broken. Evelyn went to the LWML Bible study at church. But first took me to the golf course and planned to get me at 1:00. I mistakenly wore a tank top, thinking I would be under a top most of the time. I guess I was--most of the time. The “less” of the time I was burning up. I had taken a peanut butter sandwich, two sodas, red grapes and some water. I consumed all of them by the time Evelyn came to get me at 1:30. She had been asked to help organize the items brought to the church for the “lawn sale” to be held this Saturday. We had to go directly to the doctor so I could have blood drawn at 2 before my appointment at 3. We finally got the paperwork and went to the lab down the hall. We then went to Arby’s for lunch and returned to the doctor. We finally saw him at 3:30. I really like him because he does take time to learn to know the patients. The blood results were phenomenal. My cholesterol and triglycerides were down. The steel cut oatmeal might have been partly responsible. My sugar was elevated, but we thought that might have been related to the grapes. We returned to the Burger King where I had left our coupon book yesterday morning. We were blessed that the workers had given it to the manager to put away. We then came home to our air conditioned home for the evening. The NBA finals were on and we watched some but fell asleep.
