A family surprise

We were up to go to get my blood draw at 9:10 and then to the dermatologist to have him look at her wound that has been healing since June 22. He is mildly concerned and he wants her to go to the wound center in the hospital. They should call to inform us of an appointment within a few days. We went on to town to look for a Laundromat where we can wash our sleeping bag. We could find only 1 and it had washers too small to hold the bag. We just brought it back home. We heated our no-nothin soup for lunch and then worked on making a pasta salad for tonight’s potluck. I did the chopping while Evelyn did the seasoning and cooking of the pasta. She was able to rest some before going to the Ribbe’s for the party. There were 14 people there and we knew 2 of them. We had a great meal and then played a game. She had written scenarios as if from an Ann Landers column but gave us only the final question for us to answer. After we did, she read the scenario. The answers were sometimes quite funny when matched with the story. We left around dusk and walked around the lake. Karen Norris called and we made plans to meet them at the Tourists’ game Wednesday. When we got home, we found some squash on the porch. We assumed they were from the Bollingers and called their home thank them. We had to leave a message. We also talked with Emily and learned that Pieder may take a job in Crane, IN. We think this is where Evelyn’s nephew, Justin works. Perhaps we will see more of them in future summers.
