Guests from Indiana
I was up early but Evelyn slept. She had had a bad night. We got up and ate food. We then went to Waynesville for many errands. We stopped at Big Lots to look for cards and artificial flowers. Then on to K-Mart for much the same. We bought some incidentals on the way. We cashed a check from Stacy at the bank and then went next door to Belk. Evelyn was looking for a back support girdle and found something she will try. She also ran into a friend and talked for a while. I was waiting for her in the car but got discouraged and went on to the grocery next door. I shopped for some items needed for tonight’s dinner and met her before checking out. We drove on to downtown Waynesville to look for a baptismal card and then on to the library for some books. On the way home we went to the library and to Sears where we bought a small refrigerator for storing beverages. It was more than we wanted to pay, but we needed to use the rebate card we got from buying a large refrigerator in Texas. It was a close out model and had been marked down. We will have to pick it up tomorrow because the car was full of items. We came home for lunch, and then I went to the local Jiffy Lube to dispose of the used oil I had taken from the car Saturday. I returned home and washed the car while Evelyn finished the dinner preparation. We served hamburgers but were 1 short because Shirley was bringing her brother with her and Paul. I went to Burger King and bought an extra to serve. They came 45 minutes early because they had finished at Lowes earlier than anticipated. We had food for hors doerves and then ate our hamburgers. Shirley had brought escalloped corn. We talked about all the troubles they had encountered with the water in their cabin. Many pipes had frozen and they had many expenses.
They came to clean up their yard of debris from the winter storms that had broken trees into their yard. They went home and we may go there to help them some tomorrow afternoon. I went to bed early again.
