First day on the trip north.

We wakened earlier than usual Thursday and were on our way to Beaumont by 7:30.  We stopped in Raymondville for breakfast and drove on north.  We noticed that we were becoming cooler and cooler when we stopped at the Sarita rest area.  By the time we stopped for lunch past Louise, TX, we knew for sure that shorts were poor choices as wearing apparel today.  We found a Best Western that allowed us to eat our lunch inside their now empty breakfast area.  We chilled our way back to the car and drove on to Beaumont.  After finding our La Quinta, we looked into the trailer and found our jackets that were a Godsend.  We also changed into long pants before going to a local catfish restaurant for dinner.  Afterward, we went to the CVS to get some advice from the pharmacist and buy some medicine.  Evelyn is developing a cold, so we had to get some medicine for her.  She was able to snooze some on our drive but needed more steady sleep.  She went to bed early.
