Fun at Snowbasin
We didn’t take our walk today because we had planned a day of travel. While Emily and Evelyn went to get some garden plants, Rosalie packed some lunch for us to take to Snowbasin, a relatively nearby place where they ski in winter and hike in summer. It was amazingly hot for this time of year. It was 90 here and 79 at the resort. The breeze and the cloudless sky made it very pleasant for us. We played on some snow piles and had lunch near the lodge. The lunch was delicious and complete with fruit for dessert. It is amazing as to how many practical things these kids know. We enjoyed their telling us about what they did during the winter ski season.
These snow piles were “jumps” during ski season. They are different from moguls, but I am not sure why.
Evelyn, closer to snow than she ever wants to be again. She is quite averse to being around it.
I am claiming this snow in the name of Pineville.
This tree was cut earlier this year. It will widen one of the slopes for next season.
I had to help Elizabeth up to this moose last year, but she got up by herself this year.
Rosalie and Stephen sitting on chairlift they have ridden many times in the winter. This one holds 4 skiers and takes them to the highest slope.
