no golf Monday
Monday we went to the Rec center to work on the machines. We were disappointed to learn that the Thursday trip to the Tourists game had been canceled. The man who drives is also in charge of the day camps for the kids in the county. We went to work on the machines and were given some excellent advice about how to use them. We finished exercising and returned some movies to the library. I also went to the Folkmoot center and paid for our tickets to the gala in July and picked up some more brochures before returning home. I wanted to play golf but have decided to not ask Marty to play golf until she asks me. I always ask her. She never came over at all. I hoped Gary might be interested, but he was too tired. I had gone to make an attempt to dig some of the “red hot pokers”, a flower that Evelyn wants to plant here. The roots are so deep that I couldn’t get them out of the ground despite the ground’s being very loose after yesterday’s heavy rain. When Wanda came home, I borrowed a long handled spade from her to use tomorrow. I also borrowed her garden hose to use in case the fire I plan to start tomorrow gets out of control. There is an impressive stack of broken twigs in the drainage ditch next to our house, and I want to burn them. It was such a beautiful evening that we went for a walk around the Lake after my news show, Special Report with Bret Bair.
