Cleaning the back yard.
Saturday got me up early and I began to work on cleaning up the back yard more. I had let Evelyn sleep late because she had been up during the night. I had to sweep up the leaves from the vines I had cut down yesterday. We are supposed to take the loose trimmings to the dumpster ourselves, so I packed 2 5 gallon buckets full and took them. After Evelyn awoke, we went to Jack in the Box for breakfast. She had pancakes and I had eggs. We went to the WalMart next door and did for her food project for next week. We also went on to the flea market to get some greeting cards for the 50th anniversary party that will be held later in the season. We returned home and I chopped 2 pounds of dates and some cranberries for Evelyn to cook with. I also tried to get the motorized golf cart ready to sell but found that the battery won’t charge. We ate lunch around 3, so we skipped supper and popped some corn instead. We learned that the woman who was interested in looking at our house has bought another. So the Lord may want us to stay here. We did, however, get some information about living in the Air Force Village II in San Antonio. Our friends, Tom and Luann live there and had the material sent to us. Heretofore only retired military officers were allowed to live there, but evidently not enough of the newly retired ones are settling there. We think it is a great place to live albeit expensive. There is great food and unsurpassed security. We watched a movie, “Moulin Rouge” while waiting for a call from Tom so we could ask some questions. Evelyn’s leg began to hurt in the evening. We pray that this therapy—that hurts too—will soon correct the sacroiliac problems that causes the sciatic pain.
