Spiritual help and a cold
Misery. I am sick with the cold Evelyn had (has). We thought we had escaped the winter virus. I thought as least I had. But no. I was not too bad during the worship service this morning, but things went downhill from there. I mean physically, not spiritually. We had 37 loving worshippers, and I hope they were blessed by the message as I was. They seem to like me as a worship leader. We invited the people in charge of arranging the chairs for the service over here for lunch on Wednesday. I spent the evening smoking some country style ribs for the event. We also invited two widows, one of whom had a stroke this past summer and the other whose husband died just six weeks ago. In the service I could see that she was visibly upset. I went to her house to invite her and learned that her husband, one of her best friend's husband, a friend who had alsheimers and her neighbor in Duluth had died just this season. We prayed and the Lord was surely present. We went on to Immanuel for Holy Communion and bought tickets for the seder meal Thursday. The tickets were $8 each because lamb is quite expensive. We came home and had linguini for lunch with a salad from the garden. We went to bed for a nap, but I didn't sleep all that well. We debated whether to go to the stock show to buy a picture but decided we didn't feel that well. We stayed here and smoked meat. We took a video and telephone to the Durkin's and learned that Stonecroft may be for sale. We are going there to volunteer so we will get the scoop for them.
