bargain day
Saturday was the flea market at the fairgrounds. We went and found a couple of serving dishes Evelyn wanted. We also posted pictures of our recumbent exercise bike but haven’t received any calls. We left there and I dropped Evelyn at Belk for their sale. I went on to the farmer’s market and bought some tomatoes and squash. I returned and found Evelyn buying some great bargains: everything at least 50% off. I also bought a blue shirt. We took another Belk card and received another 25% off. We bought $237 of merchandise for $107, saving $130. We came home for lunch and then sat down together to look over some things Evelyn should know if I die before her. We will try to make time to do this more often. We then watched the Cubs beat the Mets in the afternoon. Unfortunately the Brewers also won so the Cubs remain 1 game behind. We ate some supper and then went to Canton for the Mater Fest, a small town festival like all small towns have. We didn’t really have much fun because the music was not appealing to us and it had stormed earlier and ruined many of the booths under small tents. We went to the grocery and bought raisins, the final ingredient we needed for the broccoli/cauliflower salad. Evelyn finished it, and we retired for the night.
