Getting organized

Wednesday was quite a bit cooler than the past two days. The temperature was barely in the 70s after setting record highs in the low 90s. Evelyn to exercise and I walked around the park. We came home and just showered and drove the golf cart to the Bible study at 10:30. The study is on proverbs, today featuring problems with sloth. This was interesting since that is the basis for my message this Sunday. We came home and I barbecued hamburgers for our lunch. We then rested, and I began gathering my materials for the AARP class tomorrow and Friday. I also began trying to organize our time with our visitor from NC and the orders of worship for the next couple of weeks so we can spend more time entertaining. We had a light supper and went to the Ash Wednesday service to be marked with the ashes we will return to. We stayed for choir practice and began work on selections for Holy Week. Evelyn and I agreed that we would forego sugar desserts for 6 days per week in compliance with the sacrifices of Lent. Lent is 40 days but doesn’t count Sundays so we will eat desserts on that day if we want them. We are both pretty much sugar addicts and this will be hard to just remember our plan. We went to Wal-Mart to get some items. We spent far too much time in the line to be checked out so will not likely go late at night again. Today was national signing day for college football and Purdue's class was not rated by very highly. There was one really big name that bolted and went to Michigan. The best thing is that teams win games, not big name players. Perhaps Purdue has good team players.
