driving miss Evelyn

There is not much to write about today. We were on the road by 8, driving to IN. We were glad to see some of the lakes back up to somewhat normal levels along the highways we traveled. We stopped for breakfast and lunch on the way. We seemed to drive all over Lexington looking for a Red Lobster. When we continued north, we encountered two heavy rainstorms. These areas don’t need rain at all, but we are becoming desperate again in the southeast. We called Sam who went to get some Pizza King pizza to take to his home. We didn’t get there until 6:30 but enjoyed our visit with him. He didn’t seem any less responsive to things than he did last summer. His son, Scott, and his family came just as we left. They live in AL and came for Father’s day. We drove on to Bearcreek farms where we had a room reserved for the night. They are small two room cabins on some land Evelyn’s dad sold to the owner years ago. He has built it into a campground/restaurant/motel/village. The main attraction, aside from the restaurant, is the “Goodtimes Theater” where he has many entertainers come to give shows. Most of them are beginners but some have been big name orchestras. We watched some TV and went to bed. We meet Evelyn’s last living aunt tomorrow for breakfast, but we will eat ours at Bearcreek since our breakfast is included with our room.
