dinner and dinner prep

Sunday we went to Bible class and had a friendly confrontation concerning whether it is OK to feel deeply about a personal relationship with Christ. The generating topic was the hymn “In the Garden”. Many of our Synod question whether that is a viable song because it emphasizes the singular aspect of the Christian faith. I like that aspect. We enjoyed the worship following and then came home to prepare for guests. I barbecued steaks, using the Q-grill. I wanted to use it because it was faster and so I could clean it up for our trade with the Jones friends. Our company stayed until 3 and then we went to bed after we had cleaned up the kitchen. We were slept for an hour and then got up and began work on the etouffee for Tuesday’s dinner with the dentist who bought it. I do all the chopping of vegetables for all of our dinners and etouffee has many chopped veggies. During the evening Evelyn talked with Emily for quite a while. She mentioned that Noah was studying a bit about Robert Morris and George Mason for our July trip. We watched the Cubs/Dodgers game most of the evening. I tried to find someone to play golf with me tomorrow morning but couldn’t. Evelyn said she would go with me in the morning. It is just too hot to play much in the afternoon. The temperature topped out today at 93 on our thermometer. We will try to be on the course by 9.
