2 kinds of showers
We slept a bit later than usual but dressed in shorts to run some errands. We went to the hardware store to get a gift for the shower at Immanuel for Kyle Eilers, a future groom. It had begun to drizzle and blow, dropping the temperature to an uncomfortable 60 degrees. We continued to the grocery and spent almost $100, to Sally Beauty Supply and then back home for lunch. I practiced the service much of the day and was able to watch Purdue play basketball after we attended the 50th anniversary party at the social hall. This events honors the couples celebrating 50 years of marriage sometime during the calendar year. It is a nice ceremony featuring answers to question about how they met, etc. We rested and dressed for the shower/dinner celebration. On the way we visited a friend who had a stent inserted into his heart yesterday. He is pretty good but tired. The shower was built on a Mexican theme, and we were able to borrow some of the decorations for our Mexican theme dance next Friday. We were blessed to revisit some of our friends from the church where I used to serve. More practice on the message followed.
