Renewing a friendship
We arose early and walked the lake. We were finished by 10 and came home expecting the man who built our steps to come to be paid. He didn’t come. I went to help Doris with some heavy boxes she wanted moved. Afterward I came home and worked on the computer while Evelyn ironed. We received a call from some people from our Texas park saying they were in NC and inviting us to come to their RV park to watch square dancing tomorrow evening. We had a light lunch and rested until time to dress for the dinner and ball game. We drove to Asheville in an off and on rain shower and went to Frankie Bones for my free birthday dinner. On the way I stopped at a bank and withdrew some cash. The restaurant gave me a free dinner and lunch during my birthday month. We had been there last year and liked it. We ordered tilapia but Evelyn thought we needed a crab/artichoke dip for an appetizer. We also had an order of French fries. This was far too much to order. We had all this, a salad and tilapia and rice to share. We left there with some French fries in a box and drove to the baseball game. We met Dallas and Karen Norris for the first time this year. We have a very good time with them. He used to be quite a good catcher and his son was a good 3rd baseman. His son came to the game too. The game featured 4 home runs and some great catches. We left with plans to meet at the Friday night dance. On the way home we shared a strawberry slushie from Sonic.
