End of a great weekend at the beach
Stacy wakened us at 6:30 but was the only one up. She went to walk on the beach and wrote messages in the sand. We didn’t think to take a picture but hope they did. We were packed, loaded and on the road by 7:30. We had an uneventful trip until we stopped for breakfast in Florence. We found a local pancake house, the Venus, probably Greek. We continued and were surprised to be in Canton by 3:00. We had driven through a heavy rain south of Asheville and stopped in Canton to get some supplies for Evelyn’s hosting tomorrow. We barely made it into the store when a violent storm began. We shopped for 20 minutes but couldn’t get to the car, so we just put together a salad from their salad bar and ate lunch. When we finished eating the rain stopped, so we checked out and drove home. On the way we bought fuel that we should have bought in SC where it is cheaper. We unpacked the car before Evelyn began preparing for tomorrow’s Bible study. A Mary Kay representative brought some product to our home. I learned that I was not needed to proctor the tests I had volunteered to do, so I will take Evelyn to church tomorrow before I go to play golf. Evelyn took a sleeping pill and went to bed around 8 so I watched TV alone. I had taken a short nap this afternoon. We had a great time this weekend and we thank God for Tom and Stacy’s willingness to tolerate us for that many days.
