Taking the family out to dinner
We had talked about walking the beach early in the morning before it heated up but slept until 8. We ate breakfast and then went outside. It was not so obtrusively hot yet so we walked down to a pier some distance away. I had not taken any money and there was a dollar charge to walk on the long pier. We went back to find the rest of the family on the beach. Peter was working on making a tank and Olivia was playing in the ocean. It looked like fun to me so I joined her. I was nearly swept away by a wave that knocked me down. I was thankful the Olivia had warned me because my back was turned when it hit. I went to the pool where there was a chair and dozed off. When I wakened, I returned to the beach and the family. Peter had gone to the room and brought some drinks to them so I had a beer. Evelyn and I came inside and she made a salad with tuna on top for lunch. We had showered before that and ate on the balcony. The others didn’t eat much lunch—at least I don’t think so. Evelyn went to bed and so did I. I don’t think I am as healthy as I would like. I took some more Mucinex and had a good nap. I got up around 4 and worked on this for a while. The six of us haven’t been together since 11 this morning but plan to go out to dinner tonight. We drove quite a distance to Nance’s Creekside Restaurant. It had been recommended by Charles and Billie from Marriage Encounter. We thought it was good but would probably not return. We came back and walked on the beach for a while because Olivia wanted to look for some shark teeth. We then watched “Cake Boss”, a show that the Georges are in love with. We prayed several times thanksgiving to God for the veterans who fought and are still fighting to preserve what little freedom we still have in America. It is God through the veterans who are keeping us free.
