Good friends are back

We were up early because I had a fasting blood draw scheduled. We walked before I went to the lab. The draw went smoothly and we returned home. I worked on the computer while Evelyn worked on making a rhubarb dessert. We didn’t eat lunch until around 1 and then sat down to relax. Evelyn went to lie down to rest but carried it too far. I was dozing in the living room while she slept in the bedroom when the phone rang. It was the doctor calling wondering where we were. We had both forgotten her appointment to have a small growth removed from her arm. We drove to the doctor but were too late to be worked in. Evelyn didn’t seem too disappointed and made an appointment for next spring. We came home and had some soup for supper before going to the Bible study at 6. We liked the DVD and plan to borrow it to take to TX for the winter. From there we went to square dance lessons. One of the men in our square had been drinking. He has a great deal of trouble remembering the calls, but I doubt that it can be attributed to the alcohol. We came home and found a note from our friends, Tom and LuAnn. I had invited them to the football party Saturday and they will come. They had invited us to visit them too, so I called them. As it turned out, they have to go to San Antonio to look at some housing. They will try to meet us at the Wurstfest in November. It has certainly been a beautiful, cool autumn. The nights are crisp, but the days are temperate and sunny.
