Another concert with friends
Thursday was especially hot. After exercise, we met with the 50th wedding anniversary committee and learned that the self appointed leader of this committee has decided that a certain woman to be honored this year should be the leader of next year’s. This is disgraceful since the committee for next year should be capable of selecting their own leader. We left there and joined the kitchen band concert already in progress. We really have a lot of fun clowning around for those who aren’t able to leave the rehab/nursing institutions. Our leader from last year returned with his wife from a doctor’s appointment and joined us. He is a resident as is another woman from our park suffering from dementia. We left and came home for lunch and a nap. We picked up John and Sue, went to Mimi’s Café for dinner (we had the pistachio crusted salmon again), and went to the concert. We were rather late and didn’t get the best seats but were not concerned. We didn’t enjoy the Sinatra/Streisand impersonators as much as the other concerts from the past. We did buy tickets for next year even though the offerings were not as appealing as those in the past either. It does give us something to look forward to doing with Joe and Bonny each month. When we returned home, I made some invitations to give to our fellow hospital volunteers tomorrow. Paul wants the invitation in writing so he won’t forget it.
