dinner with friends

I slept late Saturday. So did Evelyn but because she had been up much of the night. She is still a bit sick but still functions. I went to invite Cops to watch the basketball game Sunday. We didn’t do much during the day but did cut down many of our dead plants from the back yard. We won’t put them out front until tomorrow afternoon because that is when the park workers will pick them up. Besides, the wind would just blow them down the street. Bonny had called and invited us for dinner at her house. We wanted to see the Bible study DVD we had missed yesterday, so we borrowed it from Reddels and took it along. We know she and Joe are dedicated Christians and liked to see and hear explorations of God’s Word too. They did like it even though they enjoy playing games with us. We were disappointed to learn that they will not go with us to the concert Thursday. One of their plethora of grandchildren will have a birthday, and they want to go. I really admire the closeness of their families. We are close with ours too but can’t afford to fly home for each birthday. Besides that, we would have to spend the entire month of February in Ohio or most of the month in an airport. In fact most of our birthdays would run from January 20 through April 26. We seem to be busy during that time period. We had a great evening and left at 9 because both of us need to get up early on Sunday mornings.
