Progress on the sciatica
We began our participation in the kitchen band for the season. We drove to John Knox Village ready to perform at 10 but found that we were expected at 10:30 because many of the residents are napping until that time. I went to the room of one of the ladies who once lived in this park and brought her to the performance area. This is the one nursing home mostly populated by English speakers. We returned home for lunch and rested until time to go for the appointment with the neurologist. He prescribed a MRI. We went to a site that was too busy to do it and ended up at the hospital where we will volunteer tomorrow. We were able to get an appointment for tomorrow during our work time. We came home and had Church’s chicken for supper. We watched the Christmas special of Duck Dynasty and talked with Janice and Sue about Evelyn’s Doctor’s appointments today. I also had a call from the man who organizes the Lutheran Hour float, but I had to tell him that we would not be coming due to Evelyn’s sciatic pain. One sad note: Sue and John, the couple we do many things with during the winter, chose to not tell us of a great deal they had found for a trip to San Antonio for 2 days. We always tell them of deals we find but will likely not bother them with those deals we find since they are not as committed to sharing as we are. We will still maintain our friendship but will wait for them to initiate any joint ventures with us. We have also decided to eat our Christmas dinner in the hall this year.
