Blessings
Thursday we arose and ate our cereal. We started the gas water heater but no response. I began to be suspicious and went outside to look at the control valve on the gas and discovered it had been turned off. No wonder it wouldn’t run! After that we were confident that the refrigerator and water heater would now work. Praise God for leading me to check the valve. We continued happily on the way, eating some Gorton’s grilled salmon we had cooked earlier when we thought the generator would be our only source of power. We drove around Cincinnati and up I-74 to Shelbyville, hoping to talk with Bill and Shirley. Bill always tells us to come to town empty because he usually can get us gasoline with a $.10 per gallon discount at the local Kroger. They didn’t answer the phone so we drove on to West Lafayette. Evelyn found some black shorts on sale that she had been looking for and a pair of walking shoes she had been needing. We parked at Meijer where I grilled hamburgers for our dinner. We took a long walk and then showered and went to bed. I had wanted to watch the NFL opening game but could not get any channel carrying it.
