A night at the theater
We go up to rain and 36 degrees. Evelyn went to exercise, and I started to walk but got too cold so I went to the hall for coffee. It was a good time with the other coffee drinkers. It wasn’t raining much but later in the day and the evening we had quite a bit. We spent some time dusting and cleaning for the visit with Don and Janice. We recovered the garden because it was not likely to get much warmer during the day. Evelyn went to her partner in Ladies Leisure during the afternoon and planned the January meeting events. I went to the grocery to get some vanilla ice cream and bought some eggnog. I also got a large box for ladies to put a gift into for the ladies in Mexico. I also went to the pharmacy to get some colonoscopy prep solution and nearly went into shock at the bill for two treatments: $96.98. We are certain that we did not pay anywhere near that much the previous time we had a colonoscopy. I brought them home, stopping on the way at the hall to put signs on the box. When I got home, Evelyn came back from her meeting and laid down to rest. We dressed and waited for the guests. They were a bit late, but Don and I enjoyed a beer before we went to the Courtyard Restaurant for the special: two chicken fried steak dinners for $12. Afterward we went to the Tower Theater to see if there were any cancellations for the production of The Foreigner, the story of a shy man who passes himself off as a foreigner by pretending to not speak any English. The general idea was that Don had never been to a play before and was dreading our going tonight. He went along and seemed to enjoy it a bit. The play was funny and that helped. After we came back here for cherry cobbler and eggnog with a little rum added. It was late when we went to bed.
