Relaxing day

Thursday was a slow day. Evelyn went to exercise while I polished the sermon and prepared introductory remarks before the reading of the scriptures. Then we dressed in our red and aprons to go to a nursing home to entertain the residents. As we left the painters showed up to start on the house. We were gone for about an hour and a half and when we returned, they had almost everything taken down from the outside siding and had begun painting. We rode to the nursing home with Norm who plays a violin to accompany the kitchen band. He was a coach and used to run the chains at the Minnesota Vikings football games. He and I might play golf sometime. We had lunch of most of the delicious gumbo Evelyn had made. She then took a nap while I tried to make a donation to our World Vision child, but the website is so convoluted that I couldn’t do it. I am not computer illiterate but I am not that smart. We watched a great movie in the afternoon, For the Boys starring Bette Midler and James Conn. The moving was never acclaimed, but I loved it. We then took a bike ride and finalized our plans for dinner tomorrow night after the light show. After we rode the park, we had dinner of a rock Cornish hen I had smoked in NC. We then went to the grocery and bought the meal deal of spiral ham. With that we get 12 sodas, a box of melty cheese, bagettes, frozen vegetables, and a marble pound cake. We finished the evening watching The School of Rock. What a mess!
