Money in the bank
Saturday was CPR morning. We met with two Weslaco firefighters who are also EMS qualified who reviewed the procedures with about 25 park residents. They were good but allowed too many questions. Despite that we were done earlier than I had expected. We drove to Texas Trader because they were having an open house to rival the RV show at the Stock Show grounds. They were serving sausages, barbecued roasting ears in the husk, and cookies. The real reason we went was to see what had happened to our motor home. I looked for it but couldn’t find it. I went to the financial secretary who gave us a check for $35,000. The buyers had taken it. We looked at some others, knowing we wouldn’t buy one. Many of them have compartments that don’t come out with the slides. That makes it very hard to get things out of the compartments. It is also dangerous to the back which can be raked on the slides. We took our money and came home. I had to go back to the electronic repair shop to say that our tape deck and phonograph turntable were repaired. It cost $40 each but was worth it because those pieces, though old, fit our cabinet. I will try to reconnect them tomorrow. Evelyn went to prepare the Holy Communion elements for tomorrow but came home, having forgotten that I had a key to the Saturn that would have allowed her access to the Communion ware. They will do it tomorrow morning. We took a walk and inquired as to what the pizza selections were for the 50s dance tonight. Since it was from CiCis, we decided to remain home to watch the Saints play football. I worked on tomorrow’s sermon and service. I am also trying to find out the names of the other people who are listed to sit with us at the Germanfest next week. We think we might have too many tickets. We don’t know whether we were given too many or bought too many. The ticket seller was not home so we still don’t know.
