Familiar Friday
Friday was exercise and preparing to go to the hospital. We had the leftover meat loaf from the CWC on Wednesday. We went to the Thomson orchard on the way and ordered some grapefruit to send to WA. We went to the hospital and had a good time serving. This is a wonderful rewarding way to serve the Lord. After work we went to a local car dealer to look at a 2006 Chrysler Town and Country on a local car lot. Our friend in Fort Wayne is looking at one for us and suggested we look at one here. From there we went to Willy’s barbecue in Alamo. A neighbor had told us that they had good catfish on Friday. We normally eat their baked potato loaded with brisket and everything else. But tonight we had the catfish which was very good. While in line one of our neighbors and friends were ordering so we saved seats with them to eat with us. As it turned out, the new couple are Lutherans, and we told them about the churches in Alamo and Mercedes. We also told them about Trail’s End and they implied they would worship with us Sunday. They will only be in the Valley for a week or two. We came home and Evelyn took a nap, and then we went to the Valentines dance featuring Lyle Beaver. Lo and behold the new couple came to check out the dance. We tried to persuade them to stay and dance because the dance was half over and the cash box had been closed. They chose not to stay. We left before the ending and were home in time to watch the 10 o’clock news.
