Relaxing Sunday
Sunday brought 48 people to our worship and Holy Communion. When we do certain things that come from our liturgy, it is always a surprise as to how many of those attending know what to do. They can’t all be Lutherans but certainly know much of what we do. Perhaps other traditions use many of the same things. We had our short Bible study, and then we took Communion to Janet. I thought we might as well take it to Lionell too. When finished there, we went to the grocery and bought a roasted chicken for lunch. The HEB has various meal deals. This one gave us a baugette (long loaf of bread), a two liter of soda, and a bottle of salad dressing if we bought a chicken and a package of salad. We bought some other things and came home to eat some of the chicken for lunch. We changed clothes and Evelyn went to rest while I cleaned up the kitchen. I then worked on next week’s message and then got into bed for a nap. She got up when I laid down. We both slept for more than an hour. When I got up, she was working on sewing a dress for Rosalie. She took a break and went for a bike ride with me. It was misty so we went just once around the park. I stopped at the house of the man who does much work around the park and told him that the furniture was wet again after Friday night’s rain storm. He promised to come tomorrow to work on it. Rain is predicted for Wednesday and we have to get this repaired. We tried to watch one of the movies I had recorded but Evelyn could not make up her mind as to which she wanted to watch so I just gave her the remote and came to write the blog for today.
