Cypress Meadows picnic

Sunday found us greeting at church. We couldn’t do the job properly because we had to go rehearse with the choir. We usually sing during the offering so virtually every Sunday we have an obligation before church. We also had Holy Communion today. We came home and had a light lunch because of the Cypress Meadows party at 3. We just watched some football game and then went to the party. We were the last to arrive and ate after I offered the prayer. The food was all brought by the homeowners. We just ate and talked until 4:30 and then went home. We got ready and went to the band concert in Maggie Valley. It was chilly for the first time this summer so we sat in the sun until it went down. The concert lasted longer than any other had this year. Many people from our church were there and even one of our choir members plays the tuba in it. It is composed of many middle aged and older people who were in high school bands and want to continue playing. They also collect money for instruments that they can loan to poor students who might want to be in a band. We got gas and came home. We have decided to go to Roswell next weekend, so we will leave early Friday morning. The pastor asked if we wanted to become associate members of the church next Sunday so we will, even though we will likely not go to that church next year. I also made plans to play golf with Phil Tuesday afternoon.
