The first day back
We were wakened by the alarm at 7. I had forgotten to turn it off. Evelyn wanted to go walk and play pickle ball so we did. I also went to get my check at Taco Bell and cashed it at the bank. We arrived at pickle ball at 10 (it begins at 9), incurring the wrath of the organizer who wants us there at 9. I was a bit irritated with her controlling attitude but played anyway. I think we both played 6 games (not together) and then left for home and lunch. I had not eaten anything. We had cold meat sandwiches, and then I went to change the oil while Evelyn made a banana cake for tonight. We will have fish. It occurred to me that we had only one grouper sandwich while in the port of Savannah. How ironic to eat it in the mountains. The oil changing featured the usual mistakes and messes but was finished. Evelyn then wanted me to water our plants. I did even though it is supposed to rain tomorrow. Of course, it has been supposed to rain many times this summer but hasn’t. I got an e-mail from Darrell saying that he would begin looking for the new mini van we want during the next week. He will also look for tickets to the football game. We had some whiting fish for dinner. Evelyn experimented with it and almost blackened it. We liked it. We invited Jim, Kathy and Anna for the banana cake but no one would come. I also asked Phil to play golf tomorrow but he couldn’t. I called Darrell but had to leave a voicemail. We watched some CSI and then I watched some of the Cubs game on the computer. Evelyn called Jennifer and made a date for Jonathon and I to play golf tomorrow morning at 10. I hope I play better than the past two times.
