mowing and shooting off my mouth
Monday was surprising. Evelyn was off to exercise and I worked on the remainder of the lights. I hung a new string of colored icicle lights. I also took a longer walk than usual and ended up at the hall for the park meeting. We had the usual items and announcements and then learned that someone has been stealing bags of coffee and other items from the hall. I was moved by the Holy Spirit to stand and make a sarcastic comment concerning if there was anyone there who didn’t think Jesus had given them enough to live on that they could come to our house at night wearing a mask if they wanted and we would give them some coffee and even some canned goods if they need some. I said this might make it unnecessary for them to steal from the hall. Many who understood what I was doing applauded and some came to me afterward agreeing. Some of my friends said they were going to come here wearing a mask tonight to get their coffee. Of course no one came. We returned home and I went to the neighbor’s and used their mower and cut the grass in both lawns. I used their electric weed wacker and cut some of the seeds nest to the houses, etc. Until the cutting cord was used up. I came in to work on orders of service for the Sundays leading up to Christmas. We had not eaten our breakfast until after the meeting (around 10:30) so we didn’t have any lunch. That meant that we ate our supper of turkey sandwiches earlier than usual. After that we took a walk around the park. It was a delightful evening--no wind and temperature in the 60s. We made arrangements with the neighbors to go together to the welcome back winter Texans party in Mercedes. We go every year and have a great time.
