errands and work for the Lord
Saturday we both wakened earlier than the alarm was set--6:30. I took Evelyn to meet the ladies at the church for their trip to clean the cabin at the church camp. I took the recyclables to the drop off place and went home to get the credit card I had forgotten. I returned to Food Lion to get some things on a list Evelyn had made for me. I also took my prescription to the pharmacy and then went back to the church for the monthly men’s breakfast and Bible study. I then went down town to the Open Door. I took them some clothes and talked with Perry about leading a worship on Saturday night sometime. I planned to return for tonight’s service so I could see how things ran. It turned out that it was just like the ones at noon. I went to the library and took some of our books to their book sale later in the summer. I also went in with my computer to publish some pictures on my blog. It seems that things go much smoother with wifi than with my air card. I returned to Ingall’s grocery and found some French vanilla Cool Whip and some steel cut oatmeal. I also took our trash to a different collection point and came home for awhile. I ate no lunch because of the big breakfast of biscuits and gravy at the church. I thought I might need to take a nap so I hung around the house a while but never got sleepy. I went back to the Terrace Hotel at the lake to publish more pictures on their wifi. When I came out of the hotel, I found it had rained. I came home and found little evidence of it here. Evelyn was here and was making salmon patties for supper. I had wanted to go for pizza, but she was too far along in her cooking. Perhaps we can go tomorrow. We went back to the Open Door for the service and then went to the lake and walked around. We came home and watched the Grand Ole Opry and some other shows. We sing in the choir tomorrow. The church secretary found our pledge card so now I know how much we pledged. I will likely give it all at once because we have the money now and our precious Savior may want the money somewhere else tomorrow. If he does and we don’t pay now, we will still owe our pledge with no money to pay it. This is why it is dangerous to carry debt.
