More miserable golf

Friday morning we went out to do some selective pruning of our gardenias. We tried to pull off the dead leaves and cut out some of the dead branches. I also mixed some “blue water” (Miracle Grow) to put on the plants and the dogwood tree and some on the fern in our Purdue well. We had lunch, finishing off the delicious gumbo and some of the sausage from Texas. We rested for our big walk on the golf course. We played Junaluska for $10 because it was after 3 and we walked. We met a black man from Canton on the first T and played the front 9 with him. He was nice and quite accomplished at playing. He said he has read books by Jack Nicklaus and other videos. He was a real student of the game. I played my usual terrible game and didn’t choose to play more although the green fees are really for all day. We went to Lowe’s looking for some ferns and hanging geraniums but found none acceptable. We came home and ate dinner. I barbecued two of the small filets we had bought last year. They were large enough for a serving instead of a mega serving like we had last night. We received a letter concerning a viatical settlement we own. We received a check for more than $400 and a bill for more than $900 in the same letter. I tried to call the company to learn what was going on but never talked with anyone. We stayed in tonight. I composed an e-mail to send to the boys and their mothers proposing an itinerary for our revolutionary war trip. We also made a plan for our trip to Roswell next weekend. We reserved a room at a motel near Martin’s Landing. It became more and more cloudy and even sprinkled slightly near the end of our golf game. Rain and storms are predicted for the next couple of days.
