Asheville Tourists
Monday began with a walk. We have been sleeping better, but Evelyn’s stomach still acts up once each day. We went to Weight Watchers at 10 and found Evelyn another pound lighter. Since April she has lost 8 pounds by their scale. This is not such good news because she has not been trying to lose. We went out to breakfast but on the way stopped at the country club to see if they would replace the golf prizes I bought at the Relay for Life. They said they would call. We went to Jim’s Drive Inn and had a steak and egg sandwich for breakfast. It was on a biscuit that I liked but Evelyn didn’t. We went to the library to return a book and renew another. Then to the Open Door to tell them we wouldn’t be there next Thursday. Then to CVS for Pepsi and to K-Mart for toothpaste. All were specially priced this week. We came home but didn’t eat lunch until about 2. I watered the plants because they (especially the tomatoes) droop each day without water. Karen Norris, friends from Tango class, called and invited us to the baseball game tonight in Asheville. We went to meet them at 7 and watched the game. On one of the first few pitches, the catcher allowed the ball to go past him and hit the umpire in the hand. We assume it had been broken because he left the game and the other umpire took over calling balls and strikes. The exchange took nearly half an hour so the game was not over until 10. We stopped for a frosty at a Wendy’s on the way home. It was soft and Evelyn’s stomach could absorb it.
