January 28
We were up and mostly packed for departure by 7:15. We then went to the breakfast buffet and ate mostly what we did yesterday: cereal with strawberry yogurt (theirs is much creamier than we get in the states) and other items as yesterday. We went to (house of birds) for a great tour. The guide had served in the US Army but was of Argentinean descent. He was very interesting and talked about the tropical birds and animals that were being rescued in the preserve. It was a jungle within the real jungle that surrounds Puerto Iguazu. We rode a short distance in a tractor pulled trailer and then walked through the trails to see the wildlife. We left there and taxied into town, got more money and then walked around shopping for souvenirs. We ate Milanese (veal) for lunch in a barbecue restaurant. We took a taxi back to the hotel. We played some cards and sent e-mails until time to be transported to the airport the customary 2 hours early. Our flight was pleasant, and we had a cab driver we had used before. Our stored luggage was brought to our new room at the Bristol hotel in Buenos Aires which was smaller than the previous one. We hardly had room to store things Evelyn showered off the DEET she had applied for the jungle toured we were off for supper at 9:15! We ate fish at the Cafe de Cuidad listed in the Frommers Guide book. We went to McDonald’s for a sundae and then to bed circa midnight. I drank no beer or wine today. I have been drinking too muc h--always loggy and sluggish.
