beautiful day

We slept late this morning and were wakened by our neighbor who had called the handyman to repair our wall. He had worked on another house and knew where there was a piece of siding. He put that on and patched the inside hole. I will paint it tomorrow. We ate oatmeal for Evelyn’s stomach and then she went back to lie down for a while. Around noon we went to walk around the lake before lunch. We have harvested some delicious tomatoes and had tomato sandwiches. Evelyn began ironing and doing laundry while I cleaned the carport. We have a party scheduled for September 12 and needed to clean the carport now for some reason. Evelyn then made a marinade for the salmon I grilled for supper. Our pistol packin moma brought us some strawberry shortcake for dessert. We watched some of the final episodes of the Closer on TV before going to bed. It was a beautiful day, not too cold nor hot and clear. We really enjoy living here in the mountains where it is cooler than many places we could have chosen.
