Parting with the family
We were up and went to church after breakfast. I had made some eggs and served cold cereal. Evelyn came out and helped as did Emily in the clean up. We took 3 kids with us and went to choir rehearsal. They all sat up in the choir loft with us but went down for the Children’s message. The final song was “Lift High the Cross”, one of my favorite hymns. I always lift my hand in praise to our God on the chorus, and Elizabeth came to join me on the final 3 choruses. I was very moved that she was trying to emulate me. Emily and Pieder went to Taco Bell to buy many things for lunch and brought them home. We enjoyed lunch together. I gave them things from the trailer. They loaded the liquor and vanilla, the swimming noodles we had bought from Texas, a garden hose, a plastic tub with some sweaters that I will never wear again. They were too nice to just leave in our cedar chest. We also gave them a trench coat and ladies coat to be worn in cold weather. We also gave them the gifts we had brought from our Mexican Riviera cruise. Pieder was especially excited with the Cuban cigar I had bought. He also enjoyed some tequila while Stephen, Elizabeth and I played Frisbee. They left for Xenia around 3,then Evelyn and I went to walk the lake since we had missed yesterday. It was a very pleasant day. We returned home and didn’t have our traditional popcorn. I worked on getting the blog caught up before retiring at 10.
