Reunions with friends
Rain had been predicted but nothing much had happened when we arose. Unfortunately, Evelyn had not slept well again. She did get up and helped finish the cleaning of the house. I vacuumed and she mopped the tile floors and did 6 loads of laundry. I cleared the emails while she rested. After lunch Karen called and we planned to meet at Two Guys Hoagie whether it rained or not. We were there and enjoying our reunion and supper at 5:00. We left there and drove to McCormack Field in time for the warm ups and opening pitch. Asheville pitched a rookie who signed for almost 2 million and had an outfielder who signed for a bonus just under a million. The Greensboro team pitched another high round draft pick so we enjoyed a pitcher’s duel. Asheville led by 2 the entire game until the top of the ninth when a man walked and another hit a 2 run homer. Asheville didn’t score in the bottom so we decided to leave. When we arrived at the car, the rains came in earnest and we drove in a heavy rain until we were just outside of town. Karen called to tell us that the Tourists had won in the bottom of the 10th. On the way home my head began to stuff up, and Evelyn was feeling bad too. We arrived home In the dry and went straight to bed.
