Sunday was a day of celebration. We began at church where we received our first wonderful meal—Holy Communion. Our friend also brought us some asparagus that we took home. We left church around 12 and drove to Laurel Ridge Country Club where we ate lunch with several other cancer survivors and care givers. The dinner is given by a local oncologist and features a bluegrass band, a short talk by the doctor and the release of some butterflies somehow made dormant and sent from Florida. They represent the hope that cancer survivors have as they keep fighting their illness. We returned home from there to rest before going across the street to a farewell party for 2 of the ladies that are moving from our subdivision. They have been fairly good friends and have offered to let us use their house when our entire family comes to visit on July 4. Everyone brought a dish and Evelyn took a wonderful Reese’s peanut butter trifle. She was asked for the recipe by 3 ladies. I made copies to distribute. I loaded the car for tomorrow’s trip. We plan to leave early, not knowing how long it will take.
