Swimming disappointment and mountain picken'

I was the breakfast cook again this morning. I stirred up some pancake batter and made pancakes before Evelyn wakened. We took the boys to the local recreation center thinking we would leave the boys there to swim while we worked a few hours at the hospital. Andrew was not old enough to watch Stephen so we had to bring them home. Evelyn had packed a lunch for them so they just ate it at home while watching one of the movies we had brought from the library. We went on to the hospital for lunch and our time to serve. We left around 3 and drove into a rain storm as we went to Joan’s house to get Phil. He had an extra set of golf clubs for Andrew to use. Jo has the ones for Stephen but is not at home. Phil is recovering well from the shoulder surgery but couldn’t lift anything. His garage had so much junk and tools in it that I could hardly find the clubs. I got them out, took him back to Joan’s and came home. I thought we might go to the driving range but it kept thundering, causing me to think better of that move. We just stayed in and Andrew learned a card game called Phase 10. We played one phase after supper. Stephen is a very sharp little boy and caught on to the play of a very difficult game. We then walked around the lake and went to Canton for the picking in the park. The band was pretty sorry at first but improved as the evening went on. The boys and Evelyn played 3 phases of Phase 10 before retiring.
