A cooler day
We were finished walking by 9. We ate cereal and began working on apples. I went outside to make one more attempt at getting the hose caddy I had brought from Texas to stop leaking. I couldn’t, so I abandoned the effort. I will use the caddy to roll the hose up for the winter. I came in and joined in the apple peeling. I remembered that I wanted to take a You Tube episode about the North Platte Canteen to our neighbor. During WWII, each train headed for the west coast was greeted by some women who had snacks for the soldiers. Bill served in WWII but didn’t travel through there, but I thought he would enjoy it. He did but I couldn’t verify its authenticity through Snopes. It looked good to me. We had lunch with Doris who brought 2 ears of corn—the best we have ever had-- and then took a short nap. I then went to Doris’ to use her phone to make a toll free call. I was checking on a credit card I had ordered so we could have a free room when we go to NYC in September. Then Evelyn read and I watched Glenn Beck until time for supper. We went to choir and then came home to distribute our medicine into our daily pill boxes. I watched The Unit until news time.
