Wallowing in Grace and in sin

We were at church earlier than usual because we want to attend the Bible class on the topic of Islam. We are certain that Islam is the Anti-Christ and will take over the world until Christ returns. We sang with the choir in the worship service and then came home for lunch. We left for the local civic theater to usher just before 1. Unfortunately I got the time of the production wrong and we were an hour early. We drove back to downtown and went to a new store—a catalog return store. Things were to be 50% and more off retail prices. It is a store full (and I mean full) of clothes in all 3 stories. We found some things we were mildly interested in but bought nothing. We returned on time to usher for the musical, “Chicago”. We had seen the movie but didn’t anticipate what we would experience in the stage version. We were especially disturbed that there were several grandparents who had brought their grandchildren to the production. They were all old enough to be prohibited in attending R rated movies. The play was what we expected until nearly the end when there was a song riddled with blasphemies and downright gross sexual innuendos. Some were overt. I seriously prayed for forgiveness for sitting through this after spending the morning in worship. We came home, changed clothes, and walked around the lake. We called Noah on our way to sing happy birthday to him. We both shuddered at the thought of taking him to the trash we experienced in the afternoon. We came home and ate supper before inviting Doris for some apricot pie. After she left, I sent a letter to the editor of the local newspaper with our opinion of the play.
