Bocce ball

The morning found us going to the kitchen band performance at John Knox Village. It was a good time in which Evelyn and I danced a polka and another couple danced a waltz. We returned home and went to the bocce ball tournament. It was extremely well organized. There was food all day but we missed the home made minestrone. A Canadian man who was a welder by trade is a chef at heart. He is of Italian descent. He and his wife cooked all the food and organized the tournament. We didn’t play because we were late. But we were early for the entrée—his pulled pork with pineapple. We came home for a short nap and went back to the tournament for the pork at 2:30. It was served at 3, and we took our portion home because we had dinner plans. We waited around until 5:15 when John and Sue picked us up. It was John’s birthday on March 1, and, for some reason, he wanted to buy us a dinner. We went to Fat Daddy’s, a barbecue dinner. Evelyn and I shared our usual smoked turkey dinner and then were off to Pine to Palm, an RV park for a dance. It was a big band group and was excellent to dance to. John plays in his many jam sessions with many of that band’s members. We stayed there 2 hours and then left for John and Sue’s park for a country western dance. The band is run by a man who lives in their park. He was quite a good performer. We were home in time for the 10 o’clock news and bed.
