Slow Sunday
We went to church early Sunday because we had missed choir practice Wednesday and didn’t know the version of “America” we were to sing this morning. We practiced early after the first session of the new Bible study. We got through it all right both before and after the service. We thank the Lord for the early rehearsal. After the choir sang, Evelyn developed severe gas in her stomach so we went home before Communion. She went to bed after the relief and slept for 3 hours. She got up and functioned during the afternoon but only at half strength. We watched a classic movie, “Key Largo” in the evening. I don’t see why the actors were so highly acclaimed. Bogart, Becall, Robinson and Barrymore were somewhat stoic, although Robinson was the best. We prayed that Evelyn would continue to improve. We talked briefly with Stacy and Emily. Stacy had just arrived home from her 4 day job and Emily was taking Noah to his Eagle scout ceremony. The entire family went with him. Noah called back around 10, and we talked scouting and theology. It is a blessing to know he worked at a Christian camp for kids and shared the Gospel with 2 of the campers.
