Travel day
We got up at 6 and actually made it out or the driveway by 7. It was an astounding testimony to preparation. Of course, we both forgot some things, but we will get along. Evelyn rode with Pauline until we got to the KFC shrine in Corbin. I had stopped at the Middlesboro Kroger where I got a loaf of hazelnut poppy seed bread for $1.67--about half of what it usually is. We had thought it would be near 1:00 before we reached Corbin, but we got there at 10:30. At that point Evelyn moved in with me and Pauline went on to her friends in Florence. Since it was too early for lunch, we went on, looking for a Bo Jangles chicken restaurant but found none around lunch time. We split a chicken teriyaki sandwich at Subway. We drove on to Dry Ridge, KY where we went to an outlet mall looking for pillow cases. There were none there, but Evelyn found some wonderful jeans at Liz Claiborne outlet. We then drove on to Berne to make a short visit with Mom. We went on to Decatur where we unpacked our Jeep. I had called Kelley RV earlier and learned that our slides still malfunction. The Jacks are supposedly fixed, however. Hopefully, HWH has found some way to finally fix that ongoing problem. Now we are waiting for the solution to the slides problem. One pleasant surprise was that John had brought the curio we are to take to Stacy to Kelley RV. It was inside the coach but will have to be moved out for the time we are here because we can’t comfortably live around it.
