golfing for food

I had set the alarm for 6:15 yesterday in case the fellow Gideon in the park called me to ask for a ride to the prayer breakfast. I saw him several times at Hidalgo, giving him plenty of opportunity to approach me but he didn’t so I turned it off. This meant that it didn’t come on at 7 either, but the one in the Texas room did. I just lay there, however, since Evelyn was still asleep. I finally got up and went down to work on the computer for a while. I heard her up and when I went up later she was surprised, thinking I must be out walking. She went to exercise and I took a shower and cleaned up. I continued working and she came home later to fix lunch. I called the Saturn dealer, giving permission to install the XM satellite radio into the Vue we will pick up Monday around noon. I also called a man from Iowa who wants to rent our Harlingen lot for the month of January. We agreed on the terms and I booked him. Shortly thereafter a woman called wanting to rent for three months. She couldn’t do that but I did tell her she could have it the first of February. She will call back if interested. There is another man interested a bit but is concerned about the mattress on the bed. I really don’t think he is interested, but no one has ever complained about the bed to my recollection. I went back to the computer and ordered a Q-grill for barbecuing. The unit folds up and can be transported easily without taking too much space. The January renters enjoying barbecuing and I promised to get them a grill to use. I also went on the K-Mart website and found that the shoes I bought yesterday are on sale next week. I will take them back and repurchase them Monday. I suggested we not eat too much because we were going to the golf club carry-in at 3. We rested a bit and went to the hall at three. They were passing out prizes and had beverages in coolers. They asked a blessing and we enjoyed the appetizers followed by the meal of turkey and ham and other carry-in dishes. They were good as usual. We took a cheese/Rotel dip that didn’t go too well but there were too many other things. We were home by 5:15 and snuggled in for the night. We watched a little TV and went to bed early.
