The beginning of the end of a wonderful life
I got up earlier than usual so I went for the e-mail. I was grieved to read one from John and Dixie saying that Mom’s pneumonia had returned. We went to church and were blessed when 47 people came to worship. This was quite a surprise since this morning was the morning that the park holds its Sunday brunch and several of our regulars work. We don’t usually have that man any Sunday except when the men’s chorus sings. We had our small Bible study and then came home to call John about Mom. We learned her room has been quarantined so the germs won’t spread throughout the nursing home. He seemed to think that it would serve no good purpose for Evelyn to come now because she would not be able to spend any real time in her room. They will call when she improves or expires. Evelyn called both girls and Stacy has decided to fly to Indy Friday. She has a ticket she was unable to use around a month ago when she was sick. Evelyn called some others too. I had told the park congregation that I might be gone next Sunday so I spent much of the afternoon planning a worship service of singing in case I am gone. I did this while watching an exciting game that the Colts managed to lose at home. What a disappointment! It reminded me of the Purdue season. In the evening we watched our Sunday evening programs. I sometimes play Free Cell while watching TV. I won 8 games. I often find one I can’t beat but sometimes return the next time and win. I will try this one again later. I began some time ago with game #1 and have played through 950. I have had to give up on several but win most of them. We stayed up later than we should have but had taken a nap earlier. I forgot to mention that.
